Pacific Lifestyle Garden Furniture Care Only
With the help of the handy guide put together by Pacific Lifestyle for the care and instructions on their garden and outdoor products, we have put it all in one place here for you to see before buying any garden furniture.
Wooden Furniture - Teak
- Always follow the assembly instructions for your product closely.
- Our teak furniture is easy to look after and doesn’t require a lot of care due to its high oil content.
- Whilst it is naturally weather-resistant you may want to store the furniture in a cool dry place throughout the winter months. This will help to prolong its colour, as teak can look weathered over time, changing to soft grey with possible cracking along the wood grain.
- Give your furniture a yearly scrub with soapy water, followed by a thorough rinse. This removes any dirt and restores the timber's surface, keeping it in good condition. Please avoid any strong chemicals or bleach-containing detergents.
- With less cleaning, the teak will take on a soft grey colour as previously mentioned. If, however, you would prefer to keep the teak’s golden honey colour you can use a teak sealant. A teak sealant will preserve the colour that the teak has at the time of application.
Acacia Wood
- Always follow the assembly instructions for your product closely.
- Over time, you may need to lightly sand the top layer of wood and apply a wood protector to refresh the piece of furniture.
- As wood is a natural product that can expand and shrink under different weather conditions, we recommend that you tighten the screws every now and then.
- Acacia furniture will need to be shielded from the elements when not in use. Use a weatherproof cover for protection from the scorching sun or rain.
- It is recommended that you store the furniture in a cool place through the winter that is not too dry.
Cushions
- Always follow the assembly instructions for your product closely
- To keep your cushions fresh, clean, and in sparkling condition store them in a dry place away from excess moisture, do not leave them out in the rain.
- Sponge clean cushion covers with a clean sponge and upholstery shampoo and leave them to dry naturally.
- Our cushion bags are a great way to store your cushions and keep them in great condition when not in use. Do not store cushions in polythene bags as they may develop mould.
Rattan Effect Furniture
- Always follow the assembly instructions for your product closely
- Thislow-maintenance furniture can be cleaned with soapy water and rinsed thoroughly to ensure that no soap residue is trapped within the weave.
- The furniture can be stored in a warm or cool place. However, it is worth noting that plastic will get harder and can deteriorate in freezing temperatures as is more prone to breakage. Conversely, when the furniture gets warm it can soften and become supple.
Metal Furniture - Powder Coated Metal
- Always follow the assembly instructions for your product closely
- Our metal furniture is powder-coated for durability against the elements. This said as there are joints in the furniture it should be protected from moisture as metal can rust.
- Caring for metal furniture is easy. Gently wash with a sponge and warm, soapy water – don’t scrub with anything abrasive, as this could scratch the finish.
- Avoid cleaning bumps or chipped areas as these may be more susceptible to rust. These spots can be touched up with either the paint provided or with car paint in a matching colour.
- Once dried and cleaned use one of our aerocovers if leaving outside or ensure the table is undercover long term storage.
Parasols
- Always follow the assembly instructions for your product closely
- Check screws and bolts monthly and tighten them if needed.
- Allow a wet parasol to dry in the fully opened position. If a wet parasol has to be closed, open it again as soon as possible and allow it to dry.
- When the parasol is not in use always use a protective cover to prevent unnecessary wear caused by the weather. Ensure that the parasol is completely dry before doing so.
- Store the parasol in a cool, dry space.
- To clean the parasol, use lukewarm water, soft detergent and a soft sponge. Use a soft brush to remove surface dirt and dust.
- Use a damp cloth to wipe away any glide marks on the aluminium profiles.
- Parasols should be closed after use and stored away in high winds.
- After closing the parasol, pull out all fabric sections separately and completely between the ribs. Roll up the fabric sections on top of each other and use the band to secure them to the pole.
Parasol Bases
- Always follow the assembly instructions for your product closely
- A stainless steel cleaner can be used to easily remove rust on stainless steel tubes.
- Granite can become discoloured after some time. You can restore the colour by using a granite colour intensifier.
- We advise you to cover the parasol base or place it indoors during the winter months.
- The handles that are attached to the bases, are intended for carefully moving the base; these handles may not, under any circumstances, be used to lift the bases.
- The base size must be appropriate for the size of the parasol.
- Always apply all brakes on a parasol with swivel wheels in order to prevent it from rolling away
- Always move a parasol base with swivel wheels slowly across your terrace. If your terrace is uneven, we advise you to lift the parasol base over any irregularities instead of just pulling the parasol base over them. If you bump against these irregularities, the wheels underneath the parasol base can break off.
Cosi Firepits
- Always follow the assembly instructions for your product closely
- We recommend covering your fire pits * with an all-weather cover to protect them from the elements.
- Always ensure that the correct type of gas and cylinder is used and that the connections to the gas bottle are fitted securely
- The device must only be used outside in well-ventilated areas such as patios or balconies and must be placed far away from flammable materials.
- Accessible parts and components may become very hot when in use in consequence we advise keeping children and pets at a safe distance from the unit.
- *When not in use firepits with teak wooden tops should be stored without a cover, in a dry cool place to avoid mould.
Aerocovers
- Always follow the assembly instructions for your product closely
- Ensure covers are fastened securely with the pull tie provided.
- Allow your fire pit or heater to cool completely before replacing your cover.
- To ensure the longevity of your outdoor products, replace the cover when not in use.
- Ensure that your cover remains rip and hole-free to protect your furniture.
- To clean the furniture cover, use lukewarm water, soft detergent and a soft sponge.
- Allow a wet furniture cover to dry before putting away or before covering your furniture.
- Store in a cool dry place when not in use.
